A fan writes "Best product ever 🔥" under your Reel. A text reply feels like too much, a heart would be just right. The catch: for years, Instagram did not allow liking through an API. So it was back to the app, or the AI suggested a 👍 reply for comments without text. Since Meta officially opened liking in April 2026, the heart comes straight from replient.ai.
Every Instagram comment now has a heart next to it. One click and your account has liked the comment. Another click takes the like back. It works in comment view and post view, without switching to the Instagram app.
"Like comment" is now an action for Instagram in your comment automations too, just like hide or reply. Combine it with the "Sentiment" condition and every positive comment gets its heart while you sleep.
Not every comment needs a reply. When a like is the right reaction, the AI suggests exactly that instead of writing text. It learns from how you reacted before. For comments without text, such as a GIF, the like suggestion comes right away. Where a 👍 reply used to go out, replient.ai now leaves a real heart on Instagram.
Likes go through the official API that Meta opened in April 2026. No unofficial access pretending to be the app. You can like comments and replies under your own posts and Reels, shown as a like from your account.
With Instagram added, you can like comments on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn from one inbox. YouTube and review platforms offer no API for it.
Since May 2026, you can append your own notice to every AI-generated suggestion under Learning, for example "This reply was created with the help of AI". Off by default.
With the setting "Move comments automatically to done, if they were answered or liked", a liked comment leaves your open list right away.

Most likely your account is connected via direct Instagram login. Liking only works for accounts connected via Facebook login. Reconnect Instagram through your Facebook Page, and the heart becomes active.
